Single Stream curbside recycling:
ALL Recylclables go into one cart for easy recycling and curbside pickup.
Items that you can recycle though this single cart include Mixed Paper, Cardboard, Newspapers, Magazines, Bottles, Jars either glass or plastic. Items prohibited are garbage bags, grocery bags, diapers, propane tanks and helium tanks.
Recycle E-Waste:
Tri-CED is a certified California Covered Electronic Waste Recovery Collector.
Tri-CED will collect/receive your televisions, computer screens/monitors, VCRs, stereo, cell phones and other common electronic products at no charge. E-waste that we take:
TVs and DVD Players Computers and Computer Parts
Cell phones and Pagers CD players and Walkmans
No kitchen appliances please

Yard Waste & Organics:
Union City residents are provided a 96 gallon recycling cart for yard waste debris. Please place loose yard waste in the 96 gallon green cart. Do not use plastic bags for your yard waste materials. Do not place dirt or sod with dirt in your yard waste cart. Yard waste collection is provided weekly on your regular recycling day. Special Christmas tree pick up is provided on an annual basis.
For food scrap recycling, Tri-CED provides a special one-gallon kitchen pail for food scraps. Place your kitchen food scraps into your green yard waste cart. It's okay to put food-soiled paper bags or newspaper into the cart. No plastic bags please.
Place your green yard waste cart at the curb for weekly collection! Rinse and keep your kitchen pail available for food scraps in your kitchen. Do not set your kitchen pail at the curb for collection.

COMPOSTING
Tri-CED along with the City of Union City and Allied Waste (BFI) offers the residents of Union City a free annual compost giveaway. Please watch for more information on the event in your mailbox.
Cash for Cans -Buy Back Program:
Tri-CED is a certified California Redemption Center. We pay for aluminum cans, plastic bottles, glass bottles, and containers that are labeled with the CRV symbol.

Used Oil & Filter recycling program:
Please call {510) 429-8030 for special Tri-CED oil containers. Two one-gallon plastic containers will be delivered to your home. Please place your one-gallon plastic containers of used motor oil next to your recycling cart on your scheduled recycling collection day.
Household Hazardous Waste Disposal!
The most affordable and convenient way for Union City and Hayward residents to dispose of hazardous wastes is to take them to an Alameda County Household Hazardous Waste drop-off facility. Household Hazardous Waste can be dropped off at
2091 West Winton Avenue, Hayward. CA 94544.
There is no fee for this disposal.
